East Africa Bird Watching
There's no clear definition to bird watching. Some can attribute it to be a form of sport, others take this to be an art-form, whilst others take this to be a form of science.
Since time immemorial, humans have been fascinated by birds in flight, and, until recent times when the secrets of flight were revealed to us, we've been watching birds, marveling at their colours, power, as well as bird flight. Bird watchers enjoy marveling at different species of birds, sometimes documenting their features, colours, sounds, and habits, without necessarily catching them. It is a true bird watching skill to be able to tell apart the different species of birds with minimal effort.
Experienced bird watchers use technological aids such as high powered binoculars, and, sometimes, high powered digital cameras to take photos, and 'eavesdrop' on the unsuspecting birds without scaring them away. From safe distances, these experienced, and equipped bird watchers are able to see high up into the trees, or, into the hidden bush effortlessly.
East Africa, an awesome destination for bird lovers, has fast become a hub for both professional and amateur bird watching, as bird watchers look for a place to display, hone, challenge, as well as put into play their acquired skills. At EMI Travel, we ensure that our guides are knowledged with the essential knowledge to make your bird watching trip an experience of it's own. East Africa boasts of over 1,250 recorded bird species... compared with the Great Britain's approximate of 350 recorded species, or an approximate of 900 recorded species in the United States, Canada, and Mexico combined!
